What a Teenage Boy Wants for Christmas

Christmas time is supposed to be pleasurable, a time to visit family, eat delicious foods, and of course, receive gifts. However, sometimes even the last one of these can become a hassle. With this posting, I hope to bring some relief to any stress that may be felt in preparing a Christmas list for the holidays.

As I have grown older, I have witnessed a decrease in ideas for what I want for Christmas. Upon becoming a teenager, this problem became severe, to the point where my wish list was absolutely blank beyond a new calendar. Now, when my parents or sister ask ‘what do you want for Christmas?’, I sit quietly, slightly confused and a little sad. Not only is this annoying for me, who has no response to the question, but also to my family, who might be tasked with battling out into the wide world of Amazon on their own, without any inspiration.

Unfortunately, I expect that I am not alone in this dilemma, and that there are other teenagers like me who wish to add something to their empty Christmas list. If you are one of those, this posting may present you with some quality ideas.

Five Gift Ideas for Teenage Boys

1. Radio-Controlled (R/C) Car: Here is a classic for anyone, in fact, who enjoy the thrill of a high-powered ride. Also, since you are not sitting in the vehicle, no license is required. I got one of these for Christmas a few years ago, and it is fun to drive. However, the batteries take so long to charge that I infrequently drive it. Mine is a Holyton 4x4, but there are other models at both higher and lower prices that will surely be enjoyable.

2. Bike-Mounted Computer: For someone who cycles commonly, this is a nice gift. A relatively high-quality one, such as the Cateye Velo 7 that I was given as a birthday present, can be purchased for a smaller price than what might be imagined. Mine calculates seven numbers, including your current speed and trip distance.

3. Moleskine Notebook: These handy journals come at a reasonable cost, and although they are not made of genuine moleskin, they look professional. Mine is the Moleskine Classic Hardcover, and I use it to plan the new books that I write.

4. Electric Dirt-bike: Behold, the gift of my dreams! These are like a cross between an e-bike and a full-blown motorcycle. The one I have my eyes on, the Ridingtimes GT73, can travel at speeds of up to 37 miles per hour, which exceeds the speed limits on my local roads. Don’t worry, though; even if I did have this, I would not drive it that fast, probably…

5. Action Camera: These are great for creating footage of all your wild journeys, (such as riding the above-mentioned dirt-bike off-road!). The brand you hear about most is GoPro, but similar cameras can be found for much lower prices from companies such as DJI, with their Osmo Action. My family owns one of these, and it has worked well.

I hope this post helped you in some way, whether you are currently scribbling down each of the ideas mentioned above on your own Christmas list, or maybe inspired by them. If you can think of anything to add to this list, please mention it in the comments box below. Also, tell me if you own any of these, and what your experiences with them have been. So

long for now!
